Scholarship: Barnabas Nursing Scholarship

Information: The Barnabas Endowed Scholarship Fund in Nursing was established in 2010 by Anita C. Jones of Dallas, Texas. Anita Jones saw an immediate need for nurses like those who graduate from the FastBacc program at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Anita Earned a B.A. degree in 1961 from Baylor University. She is active in the Baylor University Women's Council of Dallas, where she has served as president and chairperson of numerous committees. She is a member of the Bear Foundation, Endowed Scholarship Society, Baylor Alumni Association, and Medallion Fellowship. Anita's late husband, Dale Jones, graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1958 and later joined the U.S. Air Force. Dale retired as vice chairman of Halliburton Company in 1998. He was named an Alumnus by Choice of Baylor University in 1995 and served on the Board of Regents from 1994 to 2004.

Comments: Enrolled in the FastBacc nursing program

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
