Scholarship: Mervin & Mildred Yeagle Schp

Information: The Mervin H. Yeagle, Sr. and Mildred L. Yeagle Endowed Scholarship Fund in Marketing was established in 2006 by Merv H. and Beverly J. Yeagle of Hagerstown, Maryland in honor and memory of Mervin H. Yeagle, Sr. and Mildred L. Yeagle, parents of Merv H. Yeagle.

Mervin and Mildred Yeagle were dedicated to providing an education for their son, Merv, at Baylor University. Mildred worked as a cafeteria manager for 20 years in the Corpus Christi Independent School District. She was devoted to reading her Bible daily and wanted her children to receive an education at the world's largest Baptist University. Mervin worked full-time for the Corpus Christi Caller Times newspaper while running his own landscaping business. Mildred passed away April 18, 2005 at the age of 88; Mervin died October 8, 2007 age the age of 84.

Mervin H. Yeagle, Jr. received a B.B.A. degree in marketing and management from Baylor University in 1971 and an M.B.A. degree from Southern Methodist University in 1974. He is a life member of the Baylor Alumni Association.

Establishing this scholarship is a tribute to the sacrifice and commitment of Mervin H. Yeagle, Sr. and Mildred L. Yeagle. It serves as a permanent, living legacy by making education possible for future generations in the same way they made education possible for their son.
