Scholarship: Bruce McMillan Nursing Schp

Information: The Bruce McMillan, Jr. Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by the Bruce McMillan, Jr. Foundation, Inc. of Overton, Texas. The Bruce McMillan, Jr. Foundation, Inc. was originally established as a trust by the late Dr. Bruce McMillan (who received degrees from Baylor in 1929 and 1931) and his wife, the late Mary Moore McMillan in loving memory of their only child, Bruce McMillan, Jr. who died of leukemia at eight years of age. Providing college educational assistance for qualified students has been a particular emphasis of the Foundation since its inception in 1951. This endowed scholarship fund assists deserving nursing students primarily from the East Texas area.

Comments: Preference is to graduates of Overton High School, West Rusk High School, Leverett's Chapel High School, Carlisle High School, Arp High School, Troup High School, Kilgore High School or Henderson High School.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
