Scholarship: Ramsey Yelvington Schp

Information: The Ramsey Yelvington Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 by Benjamin Ramsey and Haley Fuller March in memory of their great uncle, Ramsey Yelvington. Ramsey Yelvington graduated from Baylor with B.A. and M.A. degrees and began writing plays, many of which were produced at Baylor University. This fund provides assistance to students who are enrolled in the theatre arts program at Baylor and who show an interest in the area of playwriting. The fund also provides an award to a new and emerging playwright recognized during the Horton Foote American Playwright Festival.

Comments: Fund is restricted to students who show promise in writing. During years of Horton Foote American Playwrights Festival, the earnings will be used to award a "New Playwrights" prize to student or nonstudent as determined by faculty of Theatre Arts from play entries.

Criteria:  For Theatre Arts majors who are a junior or senior.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on merit.
