Scholarship: Sue Downs Smith Scholarship

Information: The Sue Downs Smith Scholarship was established in 2001 by Sue D. Downs of Navasota, Texas. Ms. Smith received a B.A. degree in elementary education from Baylor University in 1959 and taught 30 years in the public schools.

Comments: Preference is for students from Grimes, Brazos, or Washington Counties, Texas.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Reading, English Lang Arts Reading 4-8, or Elementary Education majors in the School of Education.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
