Scholarship: Roy Donald Perry Scholarship

Information: The Roy Donald Perry Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 in memory of Roy Donald Perry by Brent and Carole Perry, his son and daughter-in-law, Clara Perry, his spouse, and Dana Perry, his daughter.

Roy Donald Perry received a B.A. in mathematics from Baylor University in 1959. He first taught junior high math and then became a teacher at Lee College in Baytown, Texas, where he taught for 30 years. While there, he earned masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Houston. Dr. Perry passed away in 1993. He was a committed Baylor alumnus as a member of the Bear Foundation and lifetime member of the Alumni Association. He and Clara sent both of their children, Brent (B.A. 1986) and Dana (B.A. 1993) to Baylor.

This endowed scholarship fund assists deserving students who are enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences and pursuing a major in mathematics or a career of teaching post-secondary education.

Comments: Seeking a career in teaching at the post-secondary level

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Mathematics majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
