Advisement in Arts & Sciences
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the College of Arts & Sciences receive academic advisement through CASA (College of Arts & Sciences Advisement), which also provides resources and institutional coordination for departmental and program advisors. CASA is dedicated to offering professional academic expertise within a scholarly community of creativity, hospitality and care.
Members of the Ampersand Society, a small group of undergraduate high-achievers, pursue majors throughout the College of Arts & Sciences and form a community whose object is to cultivate a rich, intentional, and ambitious undergraduate experience for its members. Members explore opportunities for research as well as presentation and publication of their scholarly work. They also learn about opportunities for funding that research during their undergraduate education, and about the national and international awards for which they can apply to support their graduate education.
BURST (Baylor Undergraduate Research in Science & Technology)
BURST is a student organization for Baylor undergraduates interested in scientific research. Its mission of is to increase awareness of undergraduate research on the Baylor campus, provide opportunities for undergraduates to optimize their research experiences, and educate undergraduates in the proper habits and techniques of research in scientific fields.
Career and Professional Development
Career and Professional Development (CPD) in the Paul L. Foster Success Center assists students as they make decisions about their professional goals. Services involve career fairs, workshops, mock interviews, help with résumés and cover letters and access to job search resources.
A limited number of undergraduate courses may be taken by correspondence to meet the needs of Baylor Arts & Sciences students. Registration may be completed at any time during the year, and credit is awarded during the semester in which the student is registered.
Paul L. Foster Success Center
Baylor's Paul L. Foster Success Center, located in the Sid Richardson Building at the heart of campus, encompasses programs and services ranging from academic advisement and support to career counseling and career services for Baylor students. All departments of the Success Center are committed to working together to help students be successful and achieve goals.
Located in the Paul L. Foster Success Center, Baylor Pre-Law is a pre-professional program designed to provide advising, programming and resources to students of all majors who are considering a career in law.

Studying abroad is a wonderful opportunity to explore the world, offering invaluable opportunities to grow by gaining new perspectives about the world you live in all while improving advancing your skills, independence and self-confidence. URSA (Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Achievement)
The URSA initiative at Baylor welcomes all undergraduates, from freshman to senior, to consider maximizing their education through a variety of research and scholarly activities found both within the classroom and beyond. Events include Scholars Week, when Baylor dedicates an entire week to undergraduate scholarly presentation. Students who have conducted research within the past year are encouraged to present their work.
