Chapel Common Course Description

Baylor students gather to worship together, to engage important issues of our day, and to be inspired by speakers, artists, academicians, and leaders from every vocation.

As a common course providing all students a shared foundation of worship and knowledge through chapel services, University Chapel will strive to offer sacred experiences as a critical dimension of a transformational Christian education. Today, five unique Chapel experiences are offered for students: Chapel Prayers, Chapel Workshop, Chapel Studies, Chapel Forum, and Chapel Online.

What began as a single daily prayer service for all faculty, staff, and students has transformed over time to meet needs and respond to changes within the life of the university and the world at large. As students worship together, they will be invited into a service that both speaks to where they are and exposes them to the worship tradition of the larger Body of Christ. Worship services and other programs will aim to lift the Spirit and prompt vocational imagination. Worship services will challenge students to engage their world by serving others and promoting peace and justice.
