The College of Arts & Sciences

Core Curriculum

The College of Arts & Sciences core curriculum is the foundation for a degree from Baylor University; it serves to educate men and women to become informed and productive citizens of a democracy and servant leaders of faith communities. For this reason, the College maintains a robust core curriculum across diverse academic disciplines such as the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts.

Pre-Fall 2019 This core knowledge, rooted in essential texts, skills, and ideals, builds community, opens students' minds, and provides access to political and cultural influence.
Post-Fall 2019 The core curriculum is an essential element of Baylor University's transformational undergraduate education pillar and represents a significant portion of your chosen degree.
