About the College of Arts & Sciences

The College of Arts & Sciences is Baylor University’s oldest and largest academic division, consisting of 25 academic departments and seven academic centers and institutes. The more than 5,000 courses taught in the College are the foundation upon which all Baylor students’ educational experiences build, and span disciplines from the arts and humanities to the social and natural sciences. The College offers outstanding master’s and doctoral programs, many of them nationally ranked, across all Arts & Sciences disciplines.

Baptist Scholars International Roundtable Meets in Oxford

How 400+ Baylor students chose to serve others around the globe this summer

Celebration Event for Miller Chapel Set for Saturday, Aug. 31
WACO, Texas (Aug. 7, 2019) – Before several new chapels were built on campus, Miller Chapel in the iconic Tidwell Bible Building served for decades as Baylor University’s primary sacred space – and the location for hundreds, maybe even thousands, of Baylor weddings. As the University prepares for the renovation of Tidwell, Baylor will hold an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, for members of the Baylor Family to celebrate their special connection to Miller Chapel.

Baylor Sociology Professor Wins Award from Christian Scholar’s Review
WACO, Texas (Aug. 2, 2019) — Incoming Baylor sociology professor George Yancey, Ph.D., was selected as the winner of the Charles J. Miller Christian Scholar's Award for Volume 47 of the Christian Scholar’s Review (CSR), along with his co-author Michael Emerson, provost of North Park University in Chicago.
