Guest Lecturer Julia Detchon to Present on “Abstraction and its Legacies in Postwar Latin America”

Julia Detchon, PhD Candidate at UT Austin, will present a lecture on “Abstraction and its Legacies in Postwar Latin America” in Dr. Katie Larson's Abstract Expressionism and Its Legacies Seminar.

Julia Detchon is currently a Fulbright scholar in Buenos Aires, where her project is supervised by Dr. Andrea Giunta and the Instituto Interdisciplinario de Estudios de Género at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (IIEGE-UBA). She was previously the Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Latin American Art at the Blanton Museum and has worked at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the National Gallery of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Mary and Leigh Block Museum.
