Baylor Support for Student Veterans

Oct. 30, 2013

The Provost's office is pleased to announce a new initiative to recognize and support student veterans enrolled at Baylor. The mission of VETS (Veteran Educational and Transition Services) is to promote the academic success of student veterans at Baylor University. VETS is part of the Paul L. Foster Success Center, and located in the Army ROTC facility with Mrs. LaNette Thompson serving as VETS Transition Coach and Dr. Janet Bagby as VETS Coordinator.

Currently about 100 student veterans are attending Baylor, with many having recently returned from deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. VETS offers a transition course for new student veterans and ongoing support for all student veterans (see for more information). In addition, one of the goals of the VETS program is to identify Baylor faculty and staff who are veterans or who have immediate family members currently serving in the military. If you are a veteran or have a family member serving, please send an email to

Join the Baylor family for the upcoming Veterans Day Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. on November 11 in the SUB Bowl. Please feel free to print and distribute the event flyer below.

Thank you for your ongoing support of student veterans on our campus.
