Nancy Russell Champan
A recipient of B.A. and M.S. degrees from Baylor University, Nancy Russell Chapman has taught school in Florida, Louisiana and Texas. She and her husband Dan Chapman, a Baylor graduate, have been married for 37 years and have two children and two grandchildren.
Now a community volunteer, Nancy has served on the Board of Directors of the Baylor Health Care System, the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention, the Executive Committee of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Junior League of Dallas, the Crystal Charity Ball, Dallas Prayer Ministry, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Kappa Kappa Gamma of Dallas, and the Baylor University Women's Council of Dallas.
Nancy enjoys fundraising for children and for women's health issues. She has chaired the Crystal Charity Ball of Dallas, the Komen Foundation's 10th Anniversary Gala, the Baylor Women's Council, and the " Celebrating Women" Luncheon for Baylor Medical Center. She has co-chaired the Baylor Medical Center's 100th anniversary year celebration and the United Way of Dallas community campaign.
She has been named "Junior League of Dallas Sustainer of the Year" and "Outstanding Kappa Alumna" and has received the "W.R. White Award for Outstanding Service to Baylor University." She and her husband have been inducted into the Baylor University Endowed Scholarship Society, and her family has been selected one of the "First Families of Baylor."
She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Richardson, the Dallas Woman's Club and the Dallas Garden Club. One of her most memorable moments was the day she and her mother, Mary Russell McCall, together received recognition from the Baylor University Women's Council.
