Dawn Watson, BA ’91, and Jeffry Watson, BA ’90, of Colorado Springs, CO, established the Don and Betsy Nolan Endowed Scholarship in honor of Dawn’s parents, Don and Betsy Nolan, and the William and Shirley Watson Endowed Scholarship in honor of Jeffry’s parents, William and Shirley Watson. Both scholarships support students through Student Foundation.
Bryan Goodwin, BA ’92, authored The New Classroom Instruction that Works: The Best Research-based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement [ASCD, 2022]. He currently serves as president & CEO of McREL International, an education research and consulting firm based in Denver and Honolulu.
Kevin Moore, BBA ’94, added to his family Oct. 11, 2022, through adoption. After having her in their home for over two years as a foster child, they adopted Gracie-Kaye Marie Moore into their family. She joins her siblings, Maddy, Dylan, Hunter and Elijah. Kevin continues to work as senior chaplain and bereavement coordinator with VNA Hospice out of the Kaufman branch. His wife, Dawn, teaches fifth grade in Mesquite.
Jeff Jumonville, BBA ’95, was hired as a commercial risk advisor at Tower Street Insurance & Risk Management (co-founded by Chris Peterie, BA ’93) as they expanded into the Austin area market. The group provides the most practical approach to protecting assets and avoiding liabilities through insurance, risk management, loss control and contractual risk transfer. All families and companies have unique exposure and tolerance for risk, and their focus on successful client risk advocacy helps them build custom solutions to meet their needs.
Nathan Howard, MA ’96, professor of history at the University of Tennessee at Martin, authored Christianity and the Contest for Manhood in Late Antiquity: The Cappadocian Fathers and the Rhetoric of Masculinity [Cambridge University Press, 2022].
Michael Cheng, BA ’97, of Edmond, OK, established the Paul and Virginia Cheng International Student Endowment in honor of his parents, and supports the priority needs of the Global Friendship Program within the Center for Global Engagement.
Lauren E. Waddell, BBA ’98, of Houston, was named 2022 Fellow of the Year by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
