Dr. Sophie Farah, BA ’15, married Dr. Raleigh Ems, on Aug. 13, 2022, in Hudson, OH.

Patrick Lenz, BM ’17, writes music with the goal of leaving audiences excited for the next concert, which has led him to his position as Composer/Arranger for the Regional U.S. Air Force Bands. He is now one of only six to hold the title. Lenz serves as Airman First Class at Langley Air Force Base.

Matt Huizinga, CPA, BBA ’18, MAcc ’18, and Mary Huizinga, MS, CCC-SLP, of Oak Lawn, IL, established the Matt and Mary Huizinga Endowed Graduate Scholarship, which supports graduate students enrolled in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences focusing on Speech-Language Pathology. 

The Grace Family Endowed Scholarship in Nursing, a Hord Challenge Scholarship, was established by Mary Wray and William Grace of Kent, WA, in honor of Madeleine Wray Grace, BSN ’19, and Sarah Elisabeth Grace and supports nursing students in need.

Theresa van Zyl, BBA ’19, MAcc ’19, and Daniel Barnett, BBA ’19, MAcc ’19, married April 30, in Glen Rose, TX. Theresa was a member of the Baylor women’s tennis team and was part of the team who won the Big 12 Championship in 2015. She moved from South Africa to represent Baylor as a student-athlete on and off the tennis court. She met Daniel in the Baylor accounting program. Theresa is a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche and Daniel is Senior Associate Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Both are from two different worlds, but fortunate to have met at Baylor University.
