Curtis Francis Lightfoot

Curtis Francis Lightfoot, BBA '33, of San Antonio, Texas, died on Aug. 21. He was 100 years old. During his time at Baylor, Lightfoot was a member of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, the drum major for the marching band, and xylophone player for the concert band. Lightfoot and both bands won significant awards in the Southwest Conference, and he was honored at the 2007 Homecoming by the dean of the music school as Drum Major Emeritus for the Golden Wave Marching Band. He served his country with the 1687th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II and worked as an accountant for British Petroleum and Oil until his retirement in 1969. Wishing to make student scholarships more available, Lightfoot set up a charitable gift annuity with Hankamer School of Business.
