2017 Award Winners

Baylor University alumni and friends around the world make significant contributions to society in many forms. The Baylor University Meritorious Achievement Awards celebrate the distinctive mission of Baylor University and honor those who achieve remarkable success in a manner consistent with that mission. Following are the 2017-18 honorees.

Baylor Alumni of the Year

Bill, BBA '71 and Pat Carlton, BA '71

Awarded to graduates who have demonstrated remarkable achievement in the previous year.

Young Alumnus of the Year

Aaron Graft, BA '00, JD '03

Awarded to a graduate age 40 or under who has demonstrated remarkable achievement in the previous year.

Pro Ecclesia Medal of Service

Kurt Kaiser

Awarded to individuals whose broad contributions to Christian ministry have made an immeasurable impact.

Pro Texana Medal of Service

Don R. Willett, BBA '88

Awarded to an individual whose contributions in furthering the mission of Baylor have made an immeasurable impact in the public or non-profit sector.

Distinguished Achievement Award

David E. Garland

Bestowed on individuals who have made a distinct contribution to their particular profession, business or vocation and in doing so have brought honor to Baylor.
