The February 2021 virtual Baylor "B" Association Highlight featured a conversation with John Morris and Doug McNamee (BA ’03), (MEd ’05). As a student, Doug was a trainer and manager for Baylor Basketball from 1999-2003. He served as Senior Associate Athletic Director: External Affairs for Baylor in 2018, and he is currently the President of Magnolia.


About our Speaker

Doug McNamee

Doug McNamee is the President of Magnolia, where he works alongside Chip and Joanna Gaines.

His career spans business operations with the Houston Astros, client relations at IMG College and athletics administration at Baylor University. While a student at Baylor, Doug served as a trainer and student manager for the men’s basketball team. He graduated from Baylor with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Speech Communication, and obtained a master's degree in sports administration from Baylor in 2005.

He and his wife, Dr. Lacy McNamee, a professor in Baylor's Department of Communication, have two daughters, Josephine and Maggie.
