Dr. Stephen Gusukuma serves on the faculty at Baylor University as Lecturer in Choral Music and conductor of Women’s Choir and director of VirtuOSO. Additionally he teaches both conducting courses and private applied conducting. He is the Minister of Music at Seventh and James Baptist Church, in Waco, TX, and has also served as Music and Worship Associate at First Presbyterian Church, Northville, Michigan. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, and the Bachelor of Music Education and the Master of Music degrees from Baylor University. Appointments at the University of Michigan included Interim Conductor of the University Choir, Conductor of the Residential College Singers, Assistant Conductor of the University Choir, Assistant Conductor of the Men’s Glee Club, Co-Conductor of Orpheus Singers, Choral Methods, Vocal Methods, and undergraduate Choral Conducting.
