Sports Strategy & Sales

The Sports Strategy & Sales (S3) major (designated as a pre-major) is designed for students wishing to work for professional and collegiate athletic programs. Athletic programs succeed or fail due to revenue that is generated from the sale of sponsorships and the selling of tickets to individuals, groups, and corporations. Students learn all these areas, equipping them for careers in sports business. S3 students select a specialization track including brand strategy, data strategy, or sales leadership. Over 95% of S3 students are placed in full-time positions before graduation. Upon graduation, 100% of S3 students have found employment.

  • Values Based Leadership in Sports
  • Customer Relationship Management for Sports
  • Consumer Behavior
  • Marketing Research

Students complete two internships before graduation. With this, they will have sold ticket packages for major league teams, interned with a professional team or major media company, and learned how to manage a call center. This real-world experience allows S3 graduates to hit the ground running in their new jobs.  

The Hankamer School of Business offers student exchange and study abroad programs which could be especially beneficial to the S3 major.
