Pastor of Family Ministries

First Baptist Church Chappell Hill

The Pastor of Family Ministries position at First Baptist Church Chappell Hill is a full-time salaried position at the Associate Pastor level, reporting to the Senior Pastor and to the deacon body as representatives of the church. The Family Ministries pastor will work to shepherd and lead heads of families in the role of primary disciple maker in their children's lives. This minister will also function as a shepherd and leader of the directors and volunteer workers for the different age-graded areas of discipleship in the church, as well as being a pastor to the children, from cradle to college. This will be a person whom the children trust and who plays an active role engaging in the lives and activities of the children and youth and their families, nurturing them into environments where the faith they inherit from their parents becomes their own faith before they venture out from the home.
The ideal candidate will have a heart for discipleship, with a record of success in ministry to school-aged children and youth, as well as demonstrated team-building skills in working with teachers and parents. The candidate must have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, will share our church's Baptist beliefs and values, and will have ability to work effectively with family members, volunteer leaders, and church staff. We expect to offer a salary of $44,000 to $49,000 annually, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. As for all our children's workers, applicants will be expected to consent to a criminal background check.
