People who are part of a congregation's largest racial group are more likely to feel they belong and be more involved, according to a Baylor University study published in the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion. Quoted are Baylor sociologist and doctoral candidate Brandon C. Martinez, the study's lead author, and study co-author Kevin D. Dougherty, Ph.D., associate professor of sociology in Baylor's College of Arts & Sciences.
