Baylor Education in Costa Rica

Location: San Jose, Costa Rica (Central America, between Panama and Nicaragua)

Participants in the Summer I session learn methods of teaching English as a Second Language. Field experiences are provided in the mornings with education students at the National University. Afternoons are dedicated to course seminars and activities. On weekends, the group travels outside of San Jose on guided excursions.

The trip fee includes: 

  • room & board with a host family,                                                     
  • transportation and hotels for weekend group          
  • excursions, and                                              
  • emergency health insurance.

Note:  The trip fee does not include tuition for summer courses.

Lodging: While in Costa Rica students are lodged with host families (two to four students per family). 

Spanish Skills: Useful, but not required for program participation.
