Jordan TeachingWhy are you passionate about teaching?

I am passionate about teaching because I know that I have the ability to impact and shape the lives of the future generation! It's so rewarding to be able to build relationships with my students- to be someone that my students trust and desire to learn from. My teachers in the past have had great influence on me; they have challenged me, invested in me, and inspired me to love learning/to grow as an individual.

How have your students positively affected you?

Being with 5th grade students has taught me a lot- they are both a challenge and a joy to work with! My students have brought so much life, wit, and energy to the classroom, and it's been such a joy to get to know them personally and to see how much they have learned and grown since the beginning of the year. They have undoubtedly helped me to become a better teacher, and have made my experience very enjoyable!

What has been the biggest struggle of learning to teach so far?

The biggest struggle of teaching so far has definitely been time management! Having to balance the life of being a college student (classes, schoolwork, late nights, extra-curricular activities, relationships, etc.) and a student teacher (waking up early, lesson planning, teaching, etc.) has been the biggest adjustment and challenge for sure!
