When did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in my senior year of high school in Mr. Lipton’s classroom. I found myself being so excited to come to class every day and be a part of the lesson. I envisioned myself in his shoes, teaching and how much fun it must be engaging and being a part of such a fun environment on a day to day basis.

classroomWhat is your favorite memory of teaching?

My favorite memory of teaching so far was during my freshman year at Cesar Chavez. I was assigned two girls, and I remember every day when I came how excited they were to see me and talk to me and learn. The energy they gave off during my lessons showed how much they were retaining and having fun, which made me so happy to come back.

Why did you choose Baylor?

I chose Baylor because I attended band camp every summer during high school. After coming to Baylor every summer, it became like my second home and the environment here never felt like I was away from family.

I am so very happy to call myself a Baylor Bear and be a part of the School of Education!
