Social Studies Academy
Baylor School of Education, in collaboration with the Heart of Texas (HOT) Council for the Social Studies, presents teacher academies on the Baylor campus. Bringing together teacher leaders from the Central Texas area, the Social Studies Academy sessions are designed by and presented by local professional social studies teachers, along with Baylor teacher-education faculty members.
The HOT Council for the Social Studies launched in 2017 with a mission to support innovative and exciting teaching practice. The group helps classroom teachers implement engaging and motivating curriculum, offers development opportunities for new and current educators, and promotes service to the community and activism within the profession.
