Spencer Krauss joined Baylor’s graduate program in the fall of 2016. His research interests are in classical and modern political thought, politics and literature, and politics and religion. His dissertation, The Homeric Defense of Poetry, is concerned with analyzing Homer’s presentation, in the Iliad, of the psychological bases of religious belief. Before coming to Baylor, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from San Diego State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from the University of Oregon at Eugene. He has taught classes on composition, fiction writing, Western political philosophy, American political thought, and constitutional development.
