Work and Education
Professor Wagner has taught nursing at Brenau University and North Georgia College and State University in Atlanta, GA. Sher joined Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing in 2021 as a Clinical Instructor. Specializing in Neonatology she teaches students through lecture and lab. Her lectures are informed by many years of professional experience practicing neonatal nurse practitioner at Parkland Hospital and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
In the past, Professor Wagner has served on many hospital based committees during her nursing career. She currently serves on the DNP Project Presentation Taskforce and Graduate Studies committees.
Articles and Presentations
Outside the classroom, Professor Wagner contributes to both nursing and medical journal publications and presentations highlighting her work in respiratory disease management in premature neonates. In 2019 and 2020, she had poster presentation at Pediatric Academic Societies international conferences.
She has co-authored a chapter in a nursing text called “Care of the Well Newborn”. She has also published articles in the Journal of Pediatrics and the Journal of Perinatology.
Finally, Dr. Wagner is involved in her local community. Aside from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, she spends time doing outreach by teaching newborn stabilization to small community health facilities. She has also taught common neonatal procedures in simulations lab for nurse practitioners, Fellow and Attending physicians. She is a certified STABLE and NRP instructor. She is also a member of a “Jamaica Yes” which is a charitable organization that provides school meals for underserved children in Jamaica.
