Work and Education
Dr. Hensley serves as the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing Clinical Professor and Coordinator of the Nurse-Midwifery Program Track in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Dr. Hensley has over 40 years of nursing and nurse-midwifery experience, and scholarship in the area of sleep disorders affecting women. In addition to extensive practice, she has taught previously with UT Austin, Vanderbilt, the University of Colorado and Montana State University. She currently volunteers at the Agape Clinic in Dallas, and the People's Care Clinic in Austin. She is actively involved as a member of American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the Restless Less Syndrome Foundation.

In addition to her responsibilities, she is an active member in professional organizations such as: ACNM, ACNM Texas Affiliate, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Nurse Practitioners for Women’s Health, Association for Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing and the RLS Foundation of the U.S., as well as the International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group.
Awards & Honors
Throughout her career, Dr. Hensley has received awards and honors. Some of her highlights include: the Sara K. Archer Faculty Award from Vanderbilt University (2016); from the School of Nursing and the ACNM Foundation “Excellence in Teaching” Award (2015 & 2020). In 2012 her article on choriocarcinoma was voted best clinical article of the year in Maternal Child Nursing.
