Music Education Degree Plans

The Bachelor of Music Education program leads to an all-level certificate in music, enabling our graduates to teach band, choir, orchestra, or elementary general music. Students in Baylor's BME Program have the option to complete their journey on their own schedule. Typically students finish in between four and five years. The degree program includes field experiences at all levels of study combined with intensive on-campus instruction in music and pedagogy.

Listed below are links to semester-by-semester BME degree courses progressions for 4-, 4.5-, and 5-year programs. It is extremely important that these degree plans be followed as closely as possible so that students will be ready for upper-level study at the beginning of the junior year. Following the sophomore year and the successful completion of the sophomore music education evaluation, each student, with his/her advisor, will develop an individual degree plan for the remaining semesters.
