The Summer Voice Institute is a continuing professional education opportunity for teachers of vocal/choral music. The Institute provides an opportunity for music educators to enhance their knowledge in Conducting and Rehearsal Techniques, Lyric Diction, Vocal and Choral Repertoire, Vocal Pedagogy, and Applied Voice while earning 15 to 16 hours of credit toward the Texas Education Agency mandated hours of Continuing Professional Education.

ENROLLMENT
Enrollment is open to choral music educators and private voice teachers.


COST
$200 registration fee includes 15 hours of instruction in the participant’s selected course offering, course materials and daily refreshments.

Conducting Gesture and Rehearsal Techniques
International Phonetic Alphabet
Vocal and Choral Repertoire
Vocal Pedagogy

All courses include focus on repertoire from the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List (choral and solo) and the 2018-19 TMEA All-State Choir audition materials.


PRIVATE VOICE LESSON
Participants may request a private, one-hour voice lesson for an additional fee of $45.


ACCREDITATION
Baylor University is an accredited institute of higher education and the Baylor University School of Music is a Texas Education Agency approved Continuing Professional Education provider.

FACULTY
Baylor University School of Music Division of Vocal Studies and members of the choral and music education faculties will provide instruction in the courses and private lessons offered through the Institute. Each faculty member has earned advanced degrees that require specialization in this subject matter, has maintained expertise in the same through teaching and sustained professional activity, and is highly qualified to provide support through continued education and professional development to teachers of vocal/choral music. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Registrants choosing not to attend will receive a full refund minus a $70 cancellation fee. You must notify us of your cancellation by June 20, 2018. After June 20, 2018 no refunds will be made available. Please email your requests to Deborah_Williamson@baylor.edu
