JUNE CAMPBELL is the Assistant to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of the School of Music and serves as an Administrative Associate for the Music Education and Vocal Divisions. She was first hired at Baylor in 2012 as the office manager for the J. M. Dawson Institute of Church-State studies and assistant to their graduate program director. Filling a position in the School of Music that opened in 2014 is a homecoming for June. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University, studied flute with Helen Ann Shanley, and performed in the Baylor Wind Ensemble, Baylor Symphony Orchestra, and BUGWB. Recently retired after a 30-year career as a music educator in the San Antonio, Central Texas, and Dallas areas, June was a band director to thousands of students and also taught private lessons to many successful flute students. As a flutist, she was a charter member of the Waco Community Band, serving as principal, section leader, soloist, and guest conductor. In addition to her vocation, June is active in outreach ministries, chancel choir, and hand bell ensemble at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. As a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she volunteers time to produce and edit the monthly newsletter for the James A. Edmond American Legion Post 121 and serves as the unit chair for Girls State.
