Meet the Marketing & Communications Team

Carl Flynn
Director

Carl leads a team of experienced integrated marketing professionals and student interns training at Baylor in the areas of graphic design and journalism/public relations. In consultation with the leadership teams of Information Technology Services and the Baylor Libraries, Baylor University Marketing & Communications, and his staff, he directs the branding, public relations, marketing and communications strategies for the division. He also assists with online resource development, visual design, copywriting, photography, video production, as well as other aspects of event and campaign execution.

Carl joined the Baylor Libraries in 2006, serving as part of the Student Technology Services group where he provided technical solutions for the campus along with branding and marketing support. In 2008, he translated the Library Development Office into the Office of Marketing & Communications for Information Technology Services and University Libraries. Working closely with the Vice President for Information Technology and Dean of University Libraries, he developed the skills and resources of the office from a traditional public relations, advertising and communications office to a fully integrated marketing operation with expertise in print, digital and social media marketing, public relations and communications. Prior to coming to Baylor, Carl graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Public Relations and, while pursuing two graduate degrees in theology and serving as Visiting Lecturer at his alma mater, did freelance branding consultation, visual design and web development for personal clients, university departments and academic organizations.
