Research Interests

I study religion and culture in Late Medieval/Early Modern Europe. Specifically, I focus on the experiences of suffering, grief, and mourning in the lives and writings of women. Starting in the era of Renaissance and Reformation, my research looks backwards towards medieval traditions of female authorship and religious understandings of suffering to better understand the changes and continuities brought by the cultural and theological transformations of the Early Modern world.
