Academic Interests and Research

My primary research interest is the Society of Jesus and the role that Jesuits played in the Enlightenment, French Revolution, and the post-revolutionary period. I am currently in the beginning stages of three new research projects: a book project on the history of “rococo Catholicism” in Enlightenment France, a book project on the history of the one-time Jesuit priest turned revolutionary Joseph-Antoine Cerutti, and a digital history project around the Jesuit missionary periodical the Lettres édifiantes et curieuses.
