Advising Next Steps

Welcome to the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core!
  1. A BIC advisor will send you an invitation for an appointment once we know your term of entry (Summer for Summer of Discovery or Fall).  We will advise you based on your degree and major along with the BIC requirements, which replace some of your general education requirements in your degree. First semester BIC classes include:
  2. Consult the University Undergraduate Catalog in the Honors College section for BIC (pp. 285-292).  You will find general lists of your home degree requirements with BIC replacing general education requirements.  Also consult the BIC Advising page and our Major Academic Planners.  Most MAPs are contained on this page—if there is a specific major you would like to see for the College of Arts and Sciences, email Dr. Melanie_nogalski@baylor.edu with your request.
  3. BIC advisors will also advise BIC students who are also in the Honors Program and/or University Scholars.  You will only need to see your BIC advisor to be fully advised for your major, HON requirements, and BIC courses.

If you have questions, please email BIC@baylor.edu or call us at 254-710-3981.  You may also reach out to Diana_Castillo@baylor.edu or Melanie_nogalski@baylor.edu.
