Pre-Physician Assistant

Physician assistants (PAs) practice medicine with supervision of licensed physicians. They work wherever physicians or health care organizations employ them.

The Pre-physician assistant program prepares students for professional Physician Assistant school. PA schools do not require a specific major, but the program consists of a set of required prerequisites that can be combined with any major of the student's choice.

The Pre-Physician Assistant program offers several services in order to prepare students for the often rigorous journey in becoming a physician assistant, including advising, the opportunity to attend professional workshops, research opportunities and student organizations.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is a student-led organization for students interested in Pre-Health Care programs. AED offers opportunities for intellectual and professional development.  It provides a forum for students with common interests.  It also extends a program of service to benefit both the Waco and the Baylor communities.

Baylor offers several Living-Learning Centers which are housing opportunities designed to place students of common interests together.  The Science & Health Living-Learning Center is a residential option that's available for pre-health students.  Students are able to collaborate with each other, science faculty and medical researchers.
