About Waco Hall

Waco Hall was built in the late 1920's with the help of the Waco Community assuring Baylor University's permanent location in Waco, TX. Construction on Waco Hall began during the presidency of Samuel Brooks and was dedicated May 27, 1930.

Designed as a multipurpose theatre complete with stage, orchestra pit, seating (2200), balcony, and box office, Waco Hall is suited to host a variety of events. Originally built for Graduation Ceremonies, Waco Hall has become the home to many University and Waco Events.

Waco Hall is the home to University events such as SING, Pigskin Revenue, Ring Ceremony, Chapel, Freshman Mass, Premiers and special events. The Waco Symphony Orchestra also calls Waco Hall home, showcasing several concerts a year with world renowned musicians such Frank Sinatra Jr., Itzhak Perlman (violinist), Gussie Oscar (pianist & conductor), Philippe Biaconi (pianist).

Waco Hall also features Central Texas Events such as the Waco Cotton Palace Pageant and Willowcreek Leadership Summit each year. A variety of special performances and speakers have also visited Waco Hall: David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman, Austin Ballet, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Donald Miller (author Blue Like Jazz), Truett Cathy (founder of Chick-fil-a), Dr. Tony Evans, Lynne Truss (author Eats, Shoots and Leaves), David McCullough (author, Pulitzer Prize winner), Oscar Arias Sanchez (Nobel Peace Prize winner), Beth Moore, Cademon's Call, John Grisham (Best Selling author) and Chet Edwards (Congressman) just to name a few.
