Advisement for Spring Registration

Advisement will begin as early as February 18, 2013. Please schedule an appointment with one of the University Scholars Directors through the online system (see link on upper right hand of this page). Advising appointments will be held from February 18th through March 29th.

Given the demands of scheduling, it may not always be possible for you to have the adviser you prefer although we will of course try to accommodate your desires if at all possible. To ensure the availability of the directors, you will want to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Simply put, the quicker you sign up for advising, the more likely you are to get the adviser you want.

When you meet with a director, please:

  1. Come prepared with a proposed list of courses.
  2. If you have any changes to your Reading List bring a new Reading List with you that identifies clearly what has been changed with you. You will be required to have it approved before you can be advised.
  3. Keep in mind that changing classes later without your adviser's approval-i.e., the same adviser who counsels you-can (and will likely) lead to automatic dismissal from the program.
  4. Once you have been formally advised, you may begin registering for classes sometime after early registration commences on March 27th. Note that early registration times are now tied to credit hours earned, so not all early registrants will register for classes at the same time. All honor students will, however, still be able to register before the general student population. You will not be allowed to register on BearWeb until you have been advised and cleared for registration. UNSC/Honors Program students who meet with their UNSC Director will still be required to go to their Honors Program advisement.
