Travel Information

Driving: Waco, Texas is conveniently located in central Texas, approximately one hundred miles south of Dallas/Fort Worth and one hundred miles north of Austin. I-35 runs through the center of Waco, and Baylor University is immediately east of the highway at either the University/Parks or 4th/5th Street Exits. The Bill Daniel Student Center is the primary campus venue for public programs.

Flying: The Waco Regional Airport is serviced by American Eagle, connecting through the Dallas/Fort Worth airport.

Train Service: There is an Amtrak station in McGregor, approximately 15 miles west of Waco. The Texas Eagle runs daily from Chicago to San Antonio. Click here to link to Amtrak's website. Travelers can call Waco's Yellow Cab at (254) 756-1861 to get from McGregor to Waco. The cab ride costs about $28. Passengers on the Amtrak Texas Eagle can transfer to/from the Sunset Limited train which runs from Orlando, Florida to Los Angeles, California.

Shuttle Service from Dallas Airports to Waco: The Waco Streak provides scheduled airport shuttles to DFW and Love Field four times daily. Charters to other airports and locations are also provided. Click here to link to the Waco Streak webpage.

Transportation From Waco Regional Airport: Cab fare from the airport to downtown is about $13. Call Waco Yellow Cab at (254) 756-1861.

Free airport shuttles are offered by the Waco Hilton, Courtyard by Marriott, Riverplace Inn, Super 8 Motel, Clarion Inn, Manor House Inn, Holiday Inn, Lexington Inn and Colcord House B&B. Just call the hotel and request pickup.

Avis, National Car Rental, Advantage Rent-A-Car, and other companies have offices in the Waco airport.

Trolley Service: The Brazos Trolley runs between the major attractions, hotels and the Convention Center every day in June, July and August, and on weekends only September through November and March through May. Cost is 50 per ride or $1.50 for a day pass.
