The Outstanding Faculty Research and Teaching Awards recognize faculty members who have made significant contributions to their academic discipline and the life of Baylor University.
Baylor faculty members are asked to nominate colleagues for consideration for these awards. A university committee considers the nominations from each academic unit and makes recommendations to the Executive Vice President and Provost for his review and decision.
Ten faculty members were named in this group of outstanding faculty and Truett Seminary's own Dr. Dennis Tucker, was one of the recipients of the award, recognized for his scholarship and research. Dr. Tucker received his award at the Baylor University Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 along with the other faculty members who received this designation for the 2007-2008 academic year.
