John G. Bales is the Theology, Philosophy, and Religion Librarian at Baylor University. He has a B.A. in philosophy from Northwestern College, Iowa, a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and a M.L.I.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has served as a full-time pastor for seventeen years in California, Washington, and Wisconsin. He is currently ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America. He was formerly the library director at Westminster Seminary California. He has also served as an executive director of a Christian non-profit organization.
John's diverse research interests include the historical reception of the Psalms, the history of spirituality, and cartography. He is a member of the American Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries. In his free time, John enjoys exercising, searching for antiques, and traveling.
