Afterschool teachers work from 3:15-5:30 on school days, supervising students during an outdoor time, snack time, quiet homework period, and some free time. Positions are open for a 1st/2nd grade teacher. Pay is $9 an hour. Some experience working with children is preferred but not required. The Live Oak school calendar lines up with the Baylor calendar on most, but not all, holidays. In particular, Live Oak goes later in December and in May than colleges do. Organize and coordinate the volunteer and community service activities for Waco Community Development. The position involves coordinating volunteer groups, organizing projects, and shuttling supplies from the office to the worksites. Applicant must be organized, good communicator, flexible, lift boxes up to 25 pounds, able to walk and enjoy being outside. Miscellaneous general clerical duties may be assigned such as retrieving and delivering mail, assist in preparing mailings, etc. Weekday work schedule is flexible. There will be work on Saturdays.
