Do you love to play soccer or frisbee? Do you enjoy laughing with kids? If so, you might consider applying for an Afterschool Teaching Position at Live Oak Classical School for the 2015-2016 school year. Live Oak is a private Christian school for JK-12th grade. Afterschool teachers work from 3:15-5:30 on school days, supervising students during an outdoor time, snack time, quiet homework period, and some free time. Pay is $9 an hour. We may also have a position for someone to start work at 2:15 doing some administrative work in the office. Some experience working with children is preferred but not required. The Live Oak school calendar lines up with the Baylor calendar on most, but not all, holidays. In particular, Live Oak goes later in December and in May than colleges do, and we would need our teachers to stay for the duration of the Live Oak semester. The last day of aftercare in December is Dec. 17th, and then we start again January 6th, and the last day of aftercare is May 26th. Live Oak is housed at First Baptist Church in downtown Waco. theCENTER @ Columbus Avenue Baptist Church is a recreation and fitness center that is a direct ministry to Columbus Avenue members and the Waco community. During two time periods each day, we open up our Kid Zone (child care area) and make it available to our members that have young children. While they go exercise, they can leave their child in safe hands! The time periods we open up our Kid Zone are from 11:30am-1:30pm, Monday through Friday, 5:30pm-7:30pm Monday through Thursday and 4:00pm-6:00pm on Friday. We are in search of quality individuals who would like to take care of kids during those hours. Qualifications: Experience working with young children and providing direct care Ability to multi-task with multiple children in the Kid Zone Assist with record keeping when parents drop off their kids Helping maintain a clean Kid Zone with periodic toy sanitation.
