Dr. Joel Weaver is a full-time Lecturer teaching introductory Greek, Biblical Interpretation, and Introduction to Christian Scriptures. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Samford University and a M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Religion from Baylor in August 2004; his area of concentration is New Testament. Professor Weaver is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion, the American Society of Papyrologists and the International Association of Papyrologists. Dr. Weaver's research is concerned with the intersection of the New Testament and the social and linguistic data from the documentary papyri. He is working on the James volume in the Papyrologische Kommentare zum Neuen Testament.
He is married to Sally Weaver (Ph.D., M.D.), and they have three daughters, Sarah, Anna, and Becca.
