Dr. Lai Ling Ngan has earned degrees from California Baptist College, Loma Linda University, and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. She also studied with the Summer Field School, Harvard University in 1990 and participated in the Leon Levy Archaeological Expedition in Ashkelon, Israel. She joined the faculty of Truett Seminary in the fall of 1996 from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary where she taught for more than three years.
Dr. Ngan is the recipient of a number of honors and awards, including participation in an ATS seminar, "Developing Your Role as a Scholar," and participation in NEH summer seminar, "Law and Religion in Biblical Antiquity," in 1994. Dr. Ngan is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, National Association of Professors of Hebrew, Ethnic Chinese Biblical Colloquium and The Catholic Biblical Association of America. Dr. Ngan has served in a number of church ministry positions in Chinese churches in California, and has continued to pulpit-supply and lead conferences since coming to Truett Seminary. She co-authored an article in Archives internationales de Pharmacodynamie et de Therapie, contributed articles for the Holman Bible Dictionary, and published articles in Review and Expositor.
Dr. Ngan teaches Old Testament courses in the area of Christian Scriptures and Biblical Hebrew at Truett Seminary.
