Affordability is central to Truett's mission, where we are committed to helping our students achieve their goals of a top-notch seminary education. That is why tremendous steps are taken to ensure an affordable education for all students.

Estimated Costs for Incoming Master of Divinity Students
2010-2011 (Summer 2010, Fall 2010, Spring 2011 entry terms)

Baptist students will receive a Truett Seminary scholarship which results in their paying no more than $192 per semester hour (Figure I). In addition, non-Baptist students will receive a reduced tuition rate paying no more than $442 per semester hour (Figure II). The estimated total annual cost of a Truett education per semester, based on 2010-2011 figures, can be broken down as follows:

NOTE: Total cost does not include estimated cost of books and supplies ($500), optional student life center / health center fee ($323 per semester), optional athletic events fee ($152 per semester), or purchase of vehicle registration permit ($225 per year).

The above scholarships are limited to 93 attempted hours of course work. Baptist students and students in the dual or joint degree programs may be eligible to receive tuition scholarships beyond 93 attempted hours. Baptist couples attending Truett Seminary may be eligible to receive additional scholarships.

Our scholarships are made possible by the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and numerous other generous donors. Scholarship values below are limited to 93 attempted hours total including transferred credit, credit by exam, and failed courses.

Truett Seminary Scholarship

Following admission to the M.Div. program (acceptance and payment of $300 enrollment deposit), Truett scholarships are awarded and an award letter is mailed to the student. Degree-seeking Baptist students entering Truett and filing a Church Certification Form will receive a scholarship of $448 per semester hour. The award will apply to all terms within the current academic year. Renewal of the Truett Scholarship for a returning student is based on their meeting the code of conduct and minimum academic requirements. In addition, Baptist students must file a Church Certification Renewal Form by March 1st prior to the academic year. The following forms may be downloaded using Adobe's Acrobat Reader. Baptist Church Matching Scholarship
Baylor University will match on a dollar-for-dollar basis, not to exceed $1,000 in an academic year, funds given to students from a Baptist church, state Baptist convention or Baptist-affiliated program. Duly authorized Baptist church leaders must certify a statement for each check in order to request matching funds. This statement is located at www.baylor.edu/finaid. Checks and statements must be received by the Cashier's Office in order for matching funds to be applied. Matching funds are available fall and spring semesters for full-time students in good standing. Matching funds are not available in the summer.

Need-Based Financial Assistance
All Truett students may apply for financial assistance on a need basis. This assistance is composed primarily of student loans. In order to be considered for need-based financial assistance, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

All need-based student aid applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1, using the prior year’s income information. You can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The school code for Baylor University is 003545.

Completing your financial aid file and the admission process by March 1 will enable the Office of Academic Scholarships and Financial Aid at Baylor University to notify you of your financial aid eligibility before your fall bill is due.
