Dr. Betty Talbert is a licensed professional counselor in the state of North Carolina. Dr. Talbert holds a certificate of completion in Christian Spiritual Guidance from Washington Theological Union and Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation; she has earned degrees from George Peabody College, Vanderbilt University, and the University of North Carolina. Dr. Talbert has extensive teaching and church ministry experience. At Lexington Theological Seminary, she developed and taught a course in spiritual formation. Prior to moving to Waco, Dr. Talbert was part owner and director of spiritual formation at Trinity Center, Inc. in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Publications include numerous articles, book reviews, poetry, sermons, and spiritual formation manuals. She has written a series of spiritual growth manuals, commissioned by the Spiritual Growth Commission, Board of Christian Education, Southern Province, Moravian Church in America: Gemeinschaft I: A Journey in Spiritual Growth Through Christian Community, Gemeinschaft II: A Journey in Reflection and Transformation Through Christian Community, Gemeinschaft III: A Journey in Moravian Doctrine and Practice Through Christian Community.
