SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

Papers addressing all aspects of aquatic science and management and environmental toxicology and chemistry are invited. Research findings from other research areas that are of interest to the two societies are also welcomed. Presentations from students are particularly encouraged. Awards will be given for best student platform and poster presentations.

MEETING THEME: Understanding Urbanizing Landscapes: Atmospheric, Terrestrial and Aquatic Linkages

The theme of the May 17-19 meeting is "Understanding Urbanizing Landscapes: Atmospheric, Terrestrial and Aquatic Linkages," which should help focus regional attention on emerging issues in rapidly urbanizing regions. A symposium on Urban Aquatic Ecosystems will include timely presentations on topic such as urban water use, hydrology, techniques to assess landscape – aquatic linkages, and emerging water quality issues. Come participate and hear leading experts in the field present recent findings and discuss the latest developments in this rapidly growing area. A special presentation will be provided by Dr. Sharon Megdal, Director of the Water Resource Research Center, University of Arizona.
