Getting Started

TRAX stands for Baylor University Financial Transactions System which is Baylor's implementation of the PeopleSoft Financials software product. We use the General Ledger, Budget, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Grants, and Fixed Assets modules.

How to get a TRAX (PeopleSoft)user ID:

  • Step 1: Download and complete the TRAX security form below:
    TRAX Security Application
Although you can fill in a form while it is displayed in a browser, we strongly recommend that you save the file first. You run the risk of accidentally deleting all of your entered data and certain browsers may not print completed information in a PDF document if the document is completed in the browser. We recommend that you open this form in either Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader and complete it there, independently from your browser or internet connection.

  • Step 2: If the person requesting access is a PI, Co-PI, or other staff member who needs access to project (grant) related activity, please download and complete the related grants addendum here:

  • Step 3: Scan and email all completed forms to
If possible, please allow seven days to set up your TRAX user ID. Classes are conducted using a training database, so you can still attend training if your user ID has not yet been set up.

  • Step 4: Attend classroom training. Classroom training is required for each module you have access to and is open to faculty or staff members. Each participant must have an active Bear ID and password in order to attend these classes. You do not need an active TRAX account for the purpose of attending training classes. For course descriptions, please click on the "Training" link on the left side of this page. To sign up for training, visit the Baylor Compass site.

Note: TRAX (PeopleSoft) Budget Training (TRAX Part One) and TRAX (PeopleSoft) Executive Training are interchangeable except that the Executive class includes information about approving requisitions and vouchers. If the Budget Training class works better for your schedule, let the trainer know, and he can add in the information about approving requisitions and vouchers at the end of the session. Or, if the Executive Training works better for your schedule, you can leave before the information about approving requisitions and vouchers is covered.

Please email with any questions.
