Browser Related

1. What browser(s) do you recommend when accessing TRAX (PeopleSoft)?
Certification support levels are continually evolving. At this time, we recommend the following: Firefox: Version 29.0.1 Google Chrome: Version 34 MS Internet Explorer: Version 10 Safari: Version 5 As you work in TRAX, you may notice that slight variations exist on the same transaction page depending on the browser that you use. On occasion, some browsers can cause TRAX to exhibit behaviors that vary from their expected behaviors. Some of these differences will be subtle and have no impact on the transactions you are trying to process. Others, though, can alter the look and function of your transactions. Should you notice any issues where fields or buttons are missing, you may need to check your browser version and possibly update. For further assistance, contact the HelpDesk at x4357 or TRAX Support at x8704.

2. I am trying to print a TRAX report using Firefox, but the print dialogue box is distorted. Buttons are missing and my computer keeps locking up. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?
This is actually an issue with Adobe or the Adobe Plugin in Firefox. Contact the HelpDesk at x4357 for assistance with updating your Adobe version or Adobe Plugin.

3. How can I tell what browser version I am using?
In Internet Explorer, click on "Help", then "About Internet Explorer". In Firefox, click on "Help", then "About Firefox". In Google Chrome, click on "Customize and Control Google Chrome" (3 line icon normally on the far right side of your screen), then "About Google Chrome".

Downloading to Excel

1. I cannot download to Excel on TRAX. I have a new computer with the latest version of Internet Explorer.
You need to tell Internet Explorer to allow you to decide what files to Download. 1) Open Internet Explorer 2) Select Internet Options from the Tools Drop Down Menu 3) Click the Security tab 4) Click the Custom Level button 5) Under Downloads click Enable under Prompt for file download We often find that holding down the alt and/or ctrl keys will often disable the setting that is preventing the excel window from opening. If these do not work, contact TRAX Support at x8704.

Pop-up Blockers

1. I cannot open a new window on TRAX. I have a new computer and am trying to print a report or budget check a transaction, but nothing is happening.
You need to tell your browser to allow "Popups" on the TRAX website. Normally a small box will appear at the top of your screen no matter what browser you are using (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari). You should be able to click on that box and select "Always Allow". If this does not work, you will need to adjust the settings in your browser options. For Internet Explorer 10: Click "Tools", then "Pop-Up Blocker", then "Pop-Up Blocker Settings", then add orasoft.baylor.edu in the filed under "Address of website to allow". Click the "Add" button, followed by "Close". For Firefox: Click "Tools", then "Options", then "Content". Next click the "Exceptions" box in the "Block Pop-Ups" section. Add orasoft.baylor.edu in the field under "Address of website". Click the "Add" button, followed by "Close".

Reporting

1. How do I delete a Report Request I no longer need?
- Budget -- Add/Update Report Request - Click Search - Select the report request you wish to delete - Delete the department ID's in the Report Request and click save

2. Why can't I run a report for a new department I just received access to?
This is a step that people easily forget because it is a maintenance step you have to do the first time you want to view a report for a particular department. The quickest way to determine whether or not someone needs to create a new report request for the department is to click on "Add/Update Report Request" under the "Budget" menu in TRAX. From the "Find an existing value" tab, click on "search" and see what comes up. If you don't see anything, then that is the reason you are having trouble with running a report for that department. You will need to create a new report request/request ID that contains the department(s) you wish to see in report format. For instructions on how to create a Report Request, click on the link below:

Technical

1. I am receiving a really long error message that begins with "Page data is inconsistent with the database..." How do I correct this problem?
We typically see this error message when making changes to a transaction (Voucher, Req, DA, etc.) and saving multiple times. It just means that the system found information currently in the database that did not necessarily match what you may have changed on the page. To correct the problem, just note the changes you were trying to make along with the transaction number, then exit the page. Come back to the page through the “Find An Existing Value- menu and entering the transaction number. Ensure the changes you made are there. If they aren’t there, try to make the change again and then click the save button. This almost always corrects the problem, but if the problem persists, contact TRAX Support at x8704, option 8.

The "Ship to" field on the Voucher is not currently a field we use.
More Information: http://www3.baylor.edu/trax/Word_97/Voucher.pdf

2. When I try to Budget Check the voucher, the "Budget Checking" option does not appear in the "Action" drop down list.
There are several possible issues: 1) Make sure you have saved your voucher. If your Voucher ID is "Next" then click the Save Button. 2) Make sure the Voucher has not already passed budget check. Review the Budget Checking Status on the Voucher Summary page or directly above the comments. Vouchers are automatically budget checked about once an hour by the Accounts Payable office. 3) If the problem persists after verifying steps 1 and 2, contact TRAX Support at TRAX@baylor.edu. There is a possibility your user ID needs to have process groups added in order to process vouchers.

3. I'm having trouble budget-checking my voucher.
Here are the steps to budget check a voucher: Enter the Invoice Header and Invoice Line information Save your voucher Select Budget Checking from the Action drop-down list. (If the Budget Checking option isn't there, either you didn't save your voucher, or it's already been budget checked.) Click Run The Budget Checking window will display. Review the Run Status and click the X button to close the window. Very Important: Click the refresh button (the green "recycling" arrows) where the Run button was. Note: The Refresh button at the bottom of the screen does and entirely different thing. Now you should be able to print your voucher and continue with the process.

4. How can I confirm a vendor's address?

Click on the magnifying glass beside the Address Seqence Number This will show you a list of the addresses for the vendor. Click on the magnifying glass beside the Vendor ID field Enter / Find the Vendor number This will show you a list of the addresses for the vendor. Select the one you want to use. You can also visit the Vendor menu. Click on Vendor Search and enter information about your vendor.
